Proud Jayhawk mothers are ready for a win at the Final Four

SAN ANTONIO -- The guards on KU have a lot of confidence. And it's likely they got it from their mothers.

41 Action News spoke with the mothers of senior guard Devonte' Graham and junior guard Lagerald Vick on Friday night in San Antonio. And they are quite confident heading into Saturday's Final Four matchup with Villanova.

"We going to win baby! We going to take it on home," said Lagerald's mother LaLa Vick.

After losing in the Elite 8 the past two years, both mothers said that drive and resilience are not only characteristic of their sons, but of the entire team.

"He's determined, very determined on and off the court," said Devonte's mother Dewanna King. "If he sets his mind to it, he's pretty much going to do it."

"I'm very proud of Lagerald," said Vick. "I'm proud of him because of where we come from and where he is now."

Vick and King will cheer on their sons from the stands at the Alamodome Saturday night against Villanova.
