KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The University of Kansas is finalizing a deal to hire Les Miles as its new football coach, according to a report from Sports Illustrated.
The report says an announcement could come as soon as this weekend.
Miles last coached at Louisiana State University. During his tenure from 2005 to 2016, Miles led the Tigers to the 2008 BCS National Title.
Miles would replace current KU head football coach David Beaty. KU fired Beaty earlier this month. KU hired Beaty in 2015. He went 2-22 in his first two seasons.
Kansas currently sits at 3-7. The Jayhawks play 6th ranked Oklahoma on Saturday.
