KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Another day, another award for Salvador Perez.

A day after being named to the MLB's "First Team," Perez has been named the American League's Comeback Player of the Year.

Perez missed the entire 2019 season with Tommy John surgery.

During a shortened season in 2020, he hit for a career-high .333 average with 11 home runs and 32 RBI's in just 37 games.

He also recorded 12 doubles, scored 22 runs, walked 17 times and even stole a base.

Perez is a six-time All-Star. He's the second Royals' player to be named AL Comeback Player of the Year Award.

Mike Moustakas was the AL Comeback Player of the Year in 2017.
