There's no time like the present for the Royals to turn the corner and get red hot after winning their second consecutive game against the Chicago White Sox. It was a tremendous game for Cheslor Cuthbert blasting two home runs and having a big day at the plate.
"A three-run homer is extremely impressive to me right now!" said Royals skipper Ned Yost. "I will take it every time."
It wasn't always easy though in the 7th inning the Royals ran into trouble. No outs and the bases loaded they could not score a run. In the 8th inning, it was Whit Merrifield's RBI single that scored Alcides Escobar that made the difference as the Royals rallied to a 5-4 win at home.
"We've gone a lot of games without a hit like that, myself included," said Merrifield who finished the day 2-4, with an RBI. "We've been a struggle so far. That was a big one." Hopefully, that will get us over the hump and have more of those."
With Sunday's victory, the Royals have won their 7th game of the season, but it's going to get tough from here as they head to "Bean Town" to take on the hottest team in baseball the Boston Red Sox.
