KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Danan Hughes will join Mitch Holthus in the booth as color commentator for the 2020 season on its radio broadcasts, the team announced Friday.

The duo along with new sideline reporter Josh Klingler, a morning show co-host on 610-AM Sports Radio, can be heard across the 70-station Chiefs Radio Network.

Games can be heard in the Kansas City market on 106.5-FM The Wolf, which is owned by Entercom.

Hughes is a familiar face (and voice), having worked as an analyst on Chiefs pregame and postgame shows on television since 2014. He also works on broadcast crews for Big Ten Network football and baseball games.

As a player, Hughes, a New Jersey native who played at the University of Iowa, appeared in 85 games for the Chiefs from 1993-98 and was a valuable special teams contributor.

Klingler has served as a sideline reporter for the University of Kansas for 14 years.

Art Hains will continue as host of the pregame and postgame shows.

Holthus, who has called a team-record 433 games, returns for his 27th season as the play-by-play man and “Voice of the Chiefs.”

The Chiefs announced that 106.5-FM “The Wolf” would become the new flagship radio station in December, replacing 101-FM “The Fox” after ending a 30-year partnership with Cumulus.
