KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With three weeks before playing host to Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide, Missouri has some work to do.

That according to the team's first-year head coach Eli Drinkwitz after its second official scrimmage of the fall.

“Penalties, turnovers, lack of execution, giving up explosive plays, having negative yardage plays, if you see those then it's not good,” Drinkwitz told the media via Zoom Saturday.

He said the team has a "long way" to go to be game ready.

Mizzou has yet to name a starting quarterback. Vanderbilt University transfer Shawn Robinson is expected to be in the mix along with Taylor Powell and redshirt freshman Connor Bazelak.

“We still got three weeks to go," Drinkwitz said. "But we got to continue to make progress."

Missouri hosts Alabama at 6 p.m. on Sept. 26.
