KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs’ first draft pick of 2020 is raising eyebrows in training camp.
In his initial talk with the media Saturday, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy said despite the unique circumstances, the rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire is ahead of schedule.
“The kid's got a great look about himself," Bieniemy said. "He works hard. He takes a tremendous amount of pride in everything that he does.”
Bieniemy said CEH isn’t immune to rookie lapses, but responds quickly to coaching.

Similarly, Tyreek Hill said Edwards-Helaire has impressed him as well. The speedster said Edwards-Helaire is responsive to critiques and always thirsts for more.
“He works hard and he fits right in with this offense," Hill said. "Over time, you won't even be able to tell he's a rookie, you know, because he works that hard."
CEH has earned a lionshare of reps with the first team alongside former Raiders back DeAndre Washington.
Chiefs camp continues through Sept. 10.
