KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Bill Snyder Family Stadium will open at approximately 25 percent capacity this fall, Kansas State University announced Monday.

K-State said it got approval from the Riley County Commission to host fans for fall football games.

The commission modified its health order banning facilities with a capacity greater than 2,000 from opening in order to allow fans at games.

In addition to reduced capacity, the university’s plan includes new protocols to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

All fans will be required to wear face coverings, K-State said, and the school will not allow tailgating. Re-entry will also not be allowed.

Since tailgating and re-entry will be prohibited, K-State will sell beer and wine for the first time ever in the general seating sections at the stadium.

Those sale locations will be on the concourse and in concession stands.

The university said it will place hand sanitizer and signs encouraging social distancing throughout the stadium.

All stadium employees will be required to wear face coverings and other protective gear.

Season ticket holders can expect information on new ticket options this week, the university said.
