Chiefs players use training camp to showcase wardrobe

Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The daily grind of Chiefs Training Camp can wear down even the most seasoned veteran.

The Chiefs love having guys like defensive lineman Chris Jones and receiver Tyreek Hill around to lighten the mood. Both are fun loving, personalities that keep their teammates loose during the grueling summer heat.

Even with them constantly entertaining their teammates in the St. Joseph heat, there is one character that everyone looks forward to seeing on move-in day.

Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman always finds a way to bring the thunder when it comes to his wardrobe on day 1.

Every year, Sherman dons the strangest outfits in order to lighten the mood.

Last year it was a leather motor cycle vest, cut off "ports" complete with a headband and fake mullet. This outfit was inspired by former Royals DH, Billy Butler. He admits he also takes advice from his current teammates and it takes about 30 minutes to settle on the perfect look.

Sherman came to Kansas City after being traded from Arizona in 2013, and every year he has been the "must see" arrival during camp. Will the tradition continue for 2018?

I have a strong feeling that the only thing that will rival his costume game is his actual play on the field when the Chiefs open up against the Chargers on September 9th.
