ST. JOSEPH. Mo. — The Chiefs broke Training Camp in St. Joseph, Missouri last week. With the Chiefs back from their temporary home at Missouri Western State University, there’s the question of will they be back next year.

“Missouri Western State University, I appreciate them and the way they treat us. They give us an opportunity to get out here and be able to focus in on playing,” said coach Andy Reid on the last day of camp. “They feed us and they house us. They keep these fields beautiful. My hat goes off to them.”

In January, the Missouri Western State University Board of Governors voted to keep training camp at the school for 2018, with an option for an additional one-year extension that would cover 2019.

Reid was asked if he would come back to Missouri Western if the choice was his.

“I love what they give us here and the effort that they put forward is tremendous,” he said.  “I don’t do all the other stuff. I coach and they do the deal, but they sure treat us good. Great people here.”

The Chiefs have held training camp at Missouri Western since 2010.
