The Pro Football Hall of Fame recognized Saturday what Chiefs fans have known for more than 50 years - Johnny Robinson is a Hall of Famer.

The announcement came Saturday night in Atlanta, site of Sunday's Super Bowl.

Robinson spent his entire career with the Dallas Texans/Kansas City Chiefs.

He was drafted in the first round of the 1960 AFL draft after a sterling career at Louisiana State University.

Robinson was a key player on the school's 1958 national championship team.

He played flanker for the first two years of his career before his third year and became a star.

Robinson intercepted 57 passes in his career.

Voters selected to the All-AFL first team seven times and two the second team three times.

Robinson played and starred in both of the Chiefs Super Bowl appearances, one in 1967 and the other in 1970.

He was one of only 20 players who played in the AFL for all ten years the league existed.

The Chiefs won three AFL titles with Robinson on their team and beat the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV.'
