Under NCAA transfer rules, Grimes must sit out a year before playing for the Cougars. However, he intends to file a waiver with the NCAA for immediate eligibility.
Named a McDonald's All-American out of high school, Grimes averaged 8.4 points per game for the Jayhawks as a freshman.
He originally declared for the NBA Draft before pulling his name out and announcing his intentions to transfer.
