Baseball will be even brighter from now on in Kansas City, Kansas.
Several former Royals spent the day at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new George and Doris Haley Field located at 5325 Parallel Parkway.
Benefiting Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities, the Royals donated $300,000 toward the project, from Royals Charities, 2012 MLB All-Star Lasting Legacy Funds and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation.
