KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Andy Reid said the Chiefs defense can get a lot better in 2020. And the Honey Badger agrees.
"We could have been so much better," Chiefs safey Tyrann Mathieu said Friday via Zoom call. "Especially the production at the ball. I dropped eight interceptions by myself."
Chiefs were 16th overall in Total Defense in 2019, which was far better than they were in 2018. But it still leaves plenty of room for improvement.
"I thought we played well, but we could have been great," Mathieu said.
Of course, the play of the Chiefs defense was good enough to earn them a Super Bowl title. But Mathieu isn't satisfied.
"That's the motivation this year, that we know we can really get better."
