OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Sports at Johnson County Community College are on the move.
The school has announced that its Ffall sports will move to the spring. Those sports include men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball.
All three of those sports will compete during the spring semester of the upcoming school year.
Additionally, the start of men's and women's basketball at JCCC will also be delayed. Basketball will now begin in January with a 22-game regular season. The NJCAA basketball tournament will be played in April.
Thus, Johnson County will have seven sports competing in the dpring, including baseball and softball.
“We will comply with all the changes from the NJCAA, which provided the best opportunities for our student-athletes to be safe and successful,” said JCCC athletic director Randy Stange. “It was the right decision, not just for our student-athletes, but for all student-athletes across the country. It also allows everyone to the possibility of still having a season in 2020-21."
