KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Friendly foes will once again face off starting in October.

Kansas State University announced Friday that its longtime rivalry with Wichita State University is back on, starting with a men's basketball charity exhibition into a full-fledged regular-season series starting in the 2021-2022 season.

“We are excited about renewing the series with Wichita State,” Wildcats head coach Bruce Weber said. “Coach Marshall has built a great program in Wichita and this will be yet another opportunity for our players to play against the best.

The charity game is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2020, at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita and will benefit organizations providing services for COVID-19 relief.

The teams last played competitively in 2003.

The four-game, regular-season agreement will be played off-campus at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita on December 5, 2021, where WSU will be designated home team; and at the newly renamed T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on December 22, 2023, with K-State serving as the home team.
