KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Wildcats are doubling down on their head man.
Kansas State University announced an extension for head football coach Chris Klieman Monday, keeping the second-year man in Manhattan through 2026.

Under the terms of the new contract, Klieman will be paid a base salary of $3.1 million in 2021, $3.5 million in 2022, $4 million in 2023, $4.3 million in 2024, $4.3 million in 2025 and $4.3 million in 2026.
“Chris and his staff have done a phenomenal job in their short time at K-State, and we are excited that he will be here for a very long time,” Athletic Director Gene Taylor said in a statement.
Klieman's eight wins in 2019 were the most in school history by a first-year coach.
