KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs will return to Miami for the first time since being crowned Super Bowl LIV Champions in February.

When the team sets foot in Hard Rock Stadium Sunday, both players and coaches said they cannot get stuck in the past.

“In season game, there’s not all the glitz and glamour there is for a Super Bowl," Head Coach Andy Reid said. "So we’re playing a good football team [in the Miami Dolphins], so we got to do the same thing we did before. You’ve got to focus in on them and make sure that you cover all the bases, they’re too good not to."

Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes said memories of Feb. 2 will come to mind, but will only allow himself a moment to reminisce.

“We’re going down there to play a really good football team," Mahomes said. "So as quickly as you get those memories, you kind of have to let those things go because it’s going to take everything we have to beat a really good Miami Dolphins football team."

Last season, the Miami Dolphins helped the Chiefs on their road to the Super Bowl.

The Dolphins, who were 5-7 on the season, defeated the 12-4 New England Patriots, 27-24, giving the Chiefs a first round bye in the playoffs.
