KANSAS CITY, Mo. — They may not be large steps, but the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL are taking steps toward the 2020 season.

On Monday, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said the team’s rookies reported to Arrowhead Stadium for COVID-19 testing.

The team’s rookies are the first — along with the Houston Texans, reportedly — to report to training camp.

In a Zoom video conference with reporters, Reid said the players will do a couple of days testing, followed by physicals.

Reid said Arrowhead Stadium has been divided up into two parts - one for the offense and one for the defense - to allow the team to social distance, though an exact date on when the team will practice on the field has not yet been set.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
