Kansas City is hoping to feel a "draft" soon. And it's not anything that chief meteorologist Gary Lezak can predict.
No, it's the NFL Draft that's up for grabs. And Kansas City is a finalist for it.
KC is one of five cities remaining to host the event in 2019 or 2020, joining Las Vegas, Denver, Nashville, and Cleveland/Canton.
Notice, two years are being bid for which means two of those final five cities will host.
Now the real work begins for the bid committee that's comprised of the Kansas City Sports Commission, the city of Kansas City, and the Chiefs. Their final bids to the NFL are due in early April.
Kansas City has proposed three site locations that could potentially host: Union Station, Downtown, and the Truman Sports Complex.
The hosts of the 2019 and 2020 NFL Drafts will be announced in May during the annual league meeting.
