KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The infamous dark knight is joining the Kansas City Royals. That’s right, the Royals signed Matt Harvey to a minor league deal.
Most Royals fans may remember Harvey from the 2015 World Series.
In game five of the series, Harvey was dominant for eight innings as he struck out nine Royals.
In the top of the ninth inning, the Royals got to Harvey and eventually won the game, 7-2 to win the World Series.
Since then, Harvey has struggled and has shuffled around the league playing for three different teams.
In 2019, Harvey started 12 games for the Los Angeles Angels posting a record of 3-5 with a 7.09 earned run average according to Baseball Reference.
Harvey has shown potential in the past including being a candidate to win the CY Young award in 2013.
