KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas State senior forward Dean Wade is questionable for the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship, which begins Wednesday at the Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
Wildcats coach Bruce Weber made the announcement Sunday.
Wade told K-State medical staff after Saturday’s 68-53 win against Oklahoma, which clinched a share of the Big 12 regular-season title, that he was experiencing discomfort in his foot.
Wade — who has averaged 12.9 points and a team-high 6.2 rebounds this season, while shooting a team-best 41.8 percent from three-point range — missed six games in late December and early January with a foot injury.
Earlier Sunday, Wade was selected to the All-Big 12 first team for the second straight season, a program first since Jacob Pullen in 2010 and 2011.
No. 18 Kansas State (24-7), which is the conference tourney’s top seed, doesn’t play until Thursday against the winner of TCU (19-12) and Oklahoma State (12-19), who square off at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
