KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Mac-N-Seitz Elite youth softball team coached by Ed Woelbel claimed the USSSA 10-and-under national championship Saturday afternoon in Branson, Mo.
Outlasting 30 teams from throughout the Midwest region, Mac-N-Seitz Elite went 10-1 overall. Woelbel’s girls swept through pool play, winning all four game then lost in the third round of double-elimination bracket play on Friday.
That meant Mac-N-Seitz Elite — which draws players from across the metro, Liberty to Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs to Olathe — had to win two consolation games to reach the final and then win two more games in the championship series.
Once there, Mac-N-Seitz Elite swept the Oklahoma Arsenal 7-3, 4-2 the celebration could begin,
