KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Joey Logano used every bit of the track to hold off Kevin Harvick over a long, finishing green-flag run to win the NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway on Sunday and earn a spot in the championship round at Phoenix.
"Proud of this team," said Logano, who won for the third time at Kansas Speedway. "We may not have had the fastest car, but we had the best team. And it showed today as we were able to overcome a lot."
Alex Bowman finished third, Brad Keselowski was fourth and Kyle Busch rounded out the top five. Ryan Blaney, William Byron, playoff driver Martin Truex Jr. and Christopher Bell rounded out the top 10. Playoff driver Kurt Busch had an engine blow and wound up finishing 38th.
Emporia native Clint Bowyer raced for the final time in his career at Kansas Speedway. Bowyer announced his retirement from racing last week.
"It (Kansas Speedway) has been a bear for me," said Bowyer last week leading up to the race. "One of my worst tracks."
Bowyer will finish the 2020 season and then move up to the broadcast booth starting next season.
