KANSAS CITY, Mo. — From being a first round draft pick, to scout team quarterback, the evolution of Patrick Mahomes has been undeniable. In the second half of the season, he's been thrown in so many situations it's hard to believe he's NOT a seasoned veteran.
"It's almost unbelievable how he's grown as a player a professional." says Chiefs guard Eric Fisher. "I keep seeing all these MVP things and what not, but it's amazing to think that he has the capability to be even better."
With so much on the line this weekend, Mahomes understands he could possible be tabbed as the next big thing in the NFL, especially with a big victory over Tom Brady.
"He's done so much in this league and he's still doing it to this day." said Mahomes. "He's going to play for some more years to come. I'm always wanting to strive to do some of the things he's done. The Super Bowls he's won, I mean that's the ultimate goal. He's not trying to pass the torch anytime soon."
