KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Around 3,000 fans will be allowed at Mizzou Arena for men’s and women’s basketball games this winter.

The Tigers athletics department announced Tuesday in a video posted on social media that capacity at games will be capped at 20%.

Groups of seats will be spaced at least six feet apart and fans will be discouraged from congregating in common areas such as concourses.

All fans will be required to wear masks. Face shields and masks with valves will not be allowed.

Ticketing and concessions will be touchless.

Water fountains will be closed to the public, but fans can bring an unopened bottle of water into the game.

Hand sanitizer stations have been installed around Mizzou Arena, and fans are asked not to attend games if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who tested positive.

Coach Cuonzo Martin's squad opens the season Nov. 25 against Oral Roberts at Mizzou Arena.

The Tigers play Dec. 6 at Wichita State, which won't be led by Gregg Marshall after his resignation Tuesday, before returning home to close out December with four home games — Liberty (Dec. 9), Illinois (Dec. 12), Bradley (Dec. 22) and the SEC opener against Tennessee (Dec. 30).

No fans will be allowed at the Braggin' Rights On Campus against the Fighting Illini as part of an agreement between the school to move from a neutral site in St. Louis and decide the home team by coin flip for 2020.

Mizzou women's basketball opens the season Nov. 27 against North Alabama.
