Brenna Dowell from Odessa, Missouri takes on her second Olympic trials in San Jose Friday hoping to earn a spot to Rio. She finished eleventh overall in the Women's P&G championships in St. Louis a few weeks ago. After this weekend, only five will be chosen for the Olympic team.

Dowell isn't the only Kansas City tie to the women's gymnastics Olympic team trials this weekend in San Jose. 2004 silver medalist Terin Humphrey will help decide who makes the team. She is one of the three members on the Olympic selection committee. Humphrey serves as the athlete representative.
