KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid said rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire will not play in this week's game against the Atlanta Falcons at Arrowhead Stadium.

Edwards-Helaire suffered injuries to his hip and ankle in the team's matchup with the New Orleans Saints last week.

Early reports indicated CEH might be out for the remainder of the regular season, but could be given the green light for playoffs.

Reid also mentioned linebacker Anthony Hitchens, who was placed on the COVID-19/reserve list Tuesday after he was deemed a high-risk close contact, according to a report.

NFL players can return after five days of isolation if they continue to test negative for COVID-19.

Reid said Hitchens could be in the game Sunday. Despite missing practice this week, Reid said the linebacker will be ready to play.
