ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Football is back. Which means the Chiefs' offseason issues are behind them. Sort of.

Quarterbacks, rookies and other select players reported to St. Joseph, Missouri, Tuesday for training camp on the campus of Missouri Western State University.

Back on the team and due to report Friday is wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who was suspended from team activities for much of the offseason as a result of a child abuse investigation. But Hill will receive no suspension from the NFL and has returned to the Chiefs.

"We stayed in touch with him as much as possible and let that stuff handle itself," Patrick Mahomes said outside Scanlon Hall at MWSU Tuesday. "And, it was good to welcome him back now and to be a part of the team so we can build the team that we wanna build."

Meanwhile, Chris Jones isn't suspended. He's just missed all offseason workouts, hoping to receive a new contract from the Chiefs.
Andy Reid weighed in on the defensive lineman.

"I've said this before. (If) you miss days, you miss days. And this is a unique situation in that we've had a change of defense and so on. So, it's probably beneficial to be here," Reid said.

The Chiefs' first practice is Wednesday morning. The Chiefs' first full squad workout comes Saturday.
