KANSAS CITY, Mo. — If you thought your neighbor and die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan was still taking the AFC Championship loss hard, your neighbor isn’t alone.
Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Missouri, took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to announce he had paid up on his bet with Rep. Joe Kennedy, D-Massachusetts.
It took me 2 long weeks to gain the strength, but a bet is a bet and today I paid my dues. Congratulations to @RepJoeKennedy on the AFC Championship. Enjoy the KC BBQ and I hope the @Patriots lose every game for the rest of your life. pic.twitter.com/qFmVCz8WiU

The two had wagered clam chowder if the Chiefs defeated the New England Patriots and Kansas City barbecue if the Patriots won.
Cleaver posed for a picture with Kennedy as both held a vacuum-sealed package of barbecue.
At the end of his tweet, Cleaver had some final thoughts.
“Enjoy the KC BBQ and I hope the Patriots lose every game for the rest of your life,” he tweeted.
Kennedy replied that Cleaver joined an “ever expanding club” of delegations from Washington, Georgia, Texas and California in being denied clam chowder.
