KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs will reportedly use a fifth-year option with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Yahoo Sports senior NFL writer Terez Paylor tweeted Thursday morning a source had told him the team plans to exercise the option.

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted the move leaves Mahomes under contract through 2021, though the team is hoping for a much longer deal to be reached.

The Chiefs drafted Mahomes in the first-round of the 2017 NFL draft out of Texas Tech University.
