The Falcons parted ways with their former head coach Dan Quinn on Oct. 11, 2020, after the team started 0-5. Defensive coordinator Raheem Morris was promoted to the interim head coaching role during that time.
Teams are allowed to interview candidates in the playoffs who are on a bye week beginning Monday until the competition of Wild Card weekend. The interviews must be conducted virtually until the team’s season has finished.
After Wild Card weekend, Bieniemy would not be allowed to interview again with any NFL team until the Chiefs season ends or during the bye week of the Super Bowl. That window would begin on Jan. 25 and end Jan. 31.
Bieniemy was promoted to the Chiefs offensive coordinator role in 2018 after the departure of Matt Nagy.
