KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's a rare occasion, but whenever the Kansas City Chiefs lose a game, Andy Reid always takes the blame.
That stayed the same following the Chiefs 31-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.
Penalties, the beat up offensive line and the lack of execution cost the Chiefs.
"It's a bad day to have a bad day," Reid told reporters after the game.
Even though the Run It Back tour did not end with the Chiefs on center stage, Reid says the team can use the loss as motivation for next season.
“It’s a tough thing to even get back to this game, it’s tough but this is what it’s all about and it just shows you the heart of these guys and what they’ve done to put ourselves in a position to at least have an opportunity to do this. We’ve got to play better, we’ve got to use it as motivation to get ourselves back again," Reid said.
