KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As the NFL playoffs kick off this weekend, it's a waiting game for the Kansas City Chiefs, who are on a first-round bye.

By the end of the weekend, the Chiefs will know who they will face at Arrowhead Stadium in the divisional round.

Many Chiefs players have set records this season, and now it's time for the team to set another one of its own.

If the Chiefs win their divisional game, the team will become the first in history to host three straight AFC Championship games. The only NFC team to do it previously was the Philadelphia Eagles when Andy Reid was still the head coach.

Reid sat most of the starters Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, and with a first-round bye, Reid is getting his team prepared mentally and physically.

“We have the majority of the team coming back, so now it’s important that now you don’t just take it for granted, that oh yeah, we’re going to up our game too, no, you got to work at it and bust your tail and dedicate yourself, be selfless and humble and all those things are important when you get into this," Reid said.

As the number one seed, the Chiefs will face the lowest remaining playoff seed. That could be the Indianapolis Colts, the Baltimore Ravens, the Cleveland Browns or the Tennessee Titans.
