KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes practiced with the team for the second day in a row after suffering a head/neck injury last Sunday.

Mahomes, who remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol, took the field during outdoor practices Thursday. He had also participated in the team’s practice without issue on Wednesday.

Mahomes took the majority of the first-team snaps in practice Thursday, according to Reid.

"Pat looked good out there," Reid said. "It looked like he was running around well."

Mahomes was a limited participant in practice again, the same designation he received after Wednesday's practice.

However, Thursday practices are typically longer and more intense than Wednesday practices.

Cornerback Bashaud Breeland, who also remains in concussion protocol, also practiced Thursday. He and Mahomes "were limited in what they did,” Reid said.

“But listen, they all got good work in, and that was the important thing as we went through today," Reid said.

Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and wide receiver Sammy Watkins also practiced for the second consecutive day.

However, running back Le'Veon Bell missed practice after his knee began to swell up after practice on Wednesday.

Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. (ankle) also missed practice again Thursday.

The Chiefs are set to play the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game at 5:40 p.m. Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
