KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sydni Russell is the owner of Shop Jill Marie, a boutique built to outfit both women and babies in fashion-forward, comfortable clothing.
She's also the fiance of Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu.
Like so many women, Russell says her passion grew after having children.
"My inspiration was my daughter first, and my son, my daughter, more importantly, because I know that I could tell that when my son was telling me that boys could do everything and girls couldn't," Russell said. "I wanted my daughter to never feel like girls are less than boys, and I knew that if I set the example versus just telling her that she would actually see it and truly believe it.
41 Action News asked Russell why she chose to open a boutique.
"I've always been interested in fun clothing, not necessarily dressy that's more my style," Russell said. "And then my daughter, I was like oh she's so cute okay she could be my model too so it was just perfect."
As the Chiefs prepare to continue their run it back tour in Tampa, Russell has a new release to commemorate the moment. It's called the "Run it 2 Tour."
"We have the heavier sweater, a lightweight sweater and a t-shirt, and I'm really excited about this because I've wanted to do this one since the beginning of the season, but I didn't want anybody to say that I jinxed them," Russell said. "So I had to wait until we made it to the Super Bowl, but that was the first one I wanted to do. So I was just excited that I could finally do it."
She's bringing all the energy on game day, and sharing her prediction.
"
I mean, I don't think it's a prediction I think it's a promise. But of course the Chiefs are gonna win. I know it's gonna be an awesome game," Russell said.
