LEAWOOD, Kan. — There's nothing like a sweet treat on a game day, and that's exactly what Blue Chip Cookies in Leawood specializes in.
For Super Bowl LIV, the small bakery cooked up some fun designs to top their delicious cookies. This year, after the hardship of the pandemic, they've got a new theme but the same spirit.
"We held on and we're still here and we are so thankful for the Chiefs going to the Super Bowl because this little bit of extra business is going to help put us over the hump and keep going," Jennifer Balsbaugh, the owner at Blue Chip, said.
41 Action News got a peek at what the team is rolling out.
"Our theme for the Super Bowl is, who is Tom Brady? I've never heard of him and Patrick Mahomes is the goat," Balsbaugh said.
Win or lose come Super Bowl LV, the small business owner said the team has already come through big for them.
"Until you really talk to the businesses that it's affecting, I don't think you quite understand the heart of it," Balsbaugh shared. "Their victory means a victory for so many small businesses in our area."
