KANSAS CITY, Mo. — G.O.A.T. — also known as the "greatest of all time."
Leading up to the Super Bowl, many are calling Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady the G.O.A.T. as it will be his 10th appearance in the big game.
But, Kansas City Chiefs fans think maybe Brady's time is up, and Patrick Mahomes may be the new G.O.A.T. quarterback.
41 Action News Sports Director Mick Shaffer decided to ask the experts which one is truly the G.O.A.T.
That's right. He talked to literal goats.
The Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead in Overland Park is home to 35 goats.
Sarah Higgerson cares for the group of goats, also known as a trip or a tribe of goats.
Mick hit her with some hard-hitting questions.
"What's a baby goat called?" Mick asked.
"A baby goat is called a kid," Higgerson said, as expected.
"What's an old goat called, like a Tom?" Mick asked, poking fun at 43-year-old Brady.
Higgerson said that is not the case.
Mick decided to pick out the oldest goats in the barn and throw a football in their pen.
"Not much. The old goat wants nothing to do with football anymore," Mick noted.
Next were the big questions for the experts.
"So, if this goat wanted to eat right now and I had a big bowl, like a super bowl of ketchup or something stupid like vitamins or almonds... I don't know what. What would it eat?" Mick asked Higgerson.
"They'd definitely go for the ketchup," she replied.
The answer points toward Mahomes, who has a well-known affinity for the condiment. He even puts it on his steak.
Poking more fun at Brady, Mick followed up with a question about goat agility.
"Goats are agile, they're athletic, right? They can move out of the pocket. They don't just stand there and get sacked," he directed at Higgerson.
"Yeah, no, no," she confirmed.
Every year, the farmstead uses a theme to name their baby goats. Last year, they were all named after Chiefs players.
Mahomes the goat was adopted first.
"They called me, they emailed me and they sent me in the money before it was up for adoption," Higgerson said.
"Have you ever thought of naming one of your goats Tom Brady?" Mick asked.
It was a firm no.
Finally, Mick placed photos of the two quarterbacks (and one of himself) in the goat pen to see who the goats thought the G.O.A.T. was.
The goat quickly chose Patrick Mahomes, putting an end to the debate.
(Sorry, Mick.)
