KANSAS CITY, Mo. — High times continue in Chiefs Kingdom.
Kansas City is headed back to the Super Bowl courtesy of a 38-24 AFC Championship rout of the Buffalo Bills. The opportunity to defend the throne amid a public pandemic is not lost on head coach Andy Reid, who spoke with reporters Monday.
“I just hope that we've been able to bring hope ... (especially) for those that have suffered from this thing,” Reid said.
KC’s return trip has been far from ordinary. Constant shuffling along the offensive line paired with a propensity for nail-biting contests left many second-guessing Reid’s bunch.
Big Red said another title in the City of Fountains could offer more than just bragging rights.
“Some have lost their lives,” Reid said. “But we also know that a positive can come out of this and something for people that are suffering a little bit to live for.”
“I think that's been a real plus for the guys and for the city,” he said.
