KANSAS CITY, Mo. — If Nicholas has anything to say about it, the Kansas City Chiefs will secure back-to-back Super Bowl wins.
The 18-year-old bottlenose dolphin from the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater, Florida, predicted on Tuesday that the Chiefs will return to the Midwest with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
“An animal care specialist presented Nicholas with two footballs – one with the logo of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and one with the Kansas City Chiefs,” according to a news release. “He selected the winning team by touching the ball featuring the Chief’s logo with his nose.”
Nicholas, who was rescued in 2002, has been predicting the winners of major sporting events since 2017. His six most-recent picks have all emerged from their bouts victorious. He also predicted the Chiefs win in 2020.
The Chiefs will take on the Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Tampa.
