KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Royals have detailed how the media will be allowed to cover the team during its Summer Camp starting on Friday — and beyond — once the season starts.
Media will be allowed inside Kauffman Stadium for 60-90 minutes each day during the team's "Spring Training 2.0" workouts, which begin this week.
Media will have access to the lower bowl of the stadium as well as the Diamond Club. All player/manager interviews will be conducted via Zoom calls.
Any media covering the workouts or games will have their temperature checked before entering Kauffman Stadium. Masks are required to be worn at all times.
Any other workouts at other facilities around Kansas City will be closed to the media.
Once the season starts, a limited number of media will have access to the press box. All television live shots must be conducted from outside the stadium.
Mike Matheny and a player will usually be available for pregame interviews via Zoom. Postgame interviews will feature Matheny, the game's starting pitcher and at least one other player.
