KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs' game Sunday in New Orleans already was being billed as a possible Super Bowl preview.

The New Orleans Saints added additional intrigue to the game Friday morning following reports that quarterback Drew Brees would return to the lineup after missing several weeks due to injury.

ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reported Friday morning that the team believes Brees is “fully healthy” and that doctors have cleared him to play.

Before going down with injury, the 41-year-old quarterback had thrown for 18 touchdowns with only three interceptions in nine games, amassing nearly 2,200 passing yards.

The Saints host the Chiefs at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday.
