KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Southeastern Conference has issued fines and suspensions to players and personnel after the Florida and Missouri football teams’ brawl during Saturday’s game.

In a statement, the SEC said, “the gathering of teams in an on-field confrontation and student-athletes throwing punches are all disappointing at any time, but even more so as we work to support healthy competition during a pandemic."

After the altercation, Florida defensive lineman Zach Carter and linebacker Antwuan Powell were ejected for fighting. Missouri outside linebacker Tre Williams was ejected for a flagrant unsportsmanlike conduct foul.

In accordance with NCAA Football Playing Rule 9.5.1.b, fighting carries an automatic half-game suspension for the next game. Florida players, Carter and Powell, will serve suspensions for the first half of the Gators’ game against Georgia.

After further video review, Missouri linebacker Chad Bailey, offensive lineman Dylan Spencer and defensive lineman Markell Utsey will also miss the first of the Tigers’ game against Georgia on Nov. 14 for fighting.

Florida head coach Dan Mullen has been issued a reprimand by the SEC and fined $25,000 for violating SEC Bylaws governing sportsmanship following Saturday's game.
