EUDORA, Kan. — How fitting that on the night of the NBA draft we are among basketball royalty in Eudora, Kansas.
It's the 11th annual Rock Chalk Roundball Classic, which tips off three days of fun and fellowship with a dinner and celebrity golf tournament. Over the years, this event has raised more than $400,000 for pediatric cancer and other childhood related illnesses. It's a chance for these legends of the hardwood to get together for a great cause.
"You got a lot of guys, and we all played with one another," said former Jayhawks center Cole Aldrich. "If we didn't play with one another, we're all family. It's fun to get back and see each other. It doesn't happen very often and many schools don't have that. It's something that you can't miss."
More than 50 former Jayhawks participated in the game including, Mario Chalmers, Sherron Collins, Perry Ellis, and Frank Mason.
