SALT LAKE CITY — Udoka Azubuike has a new team. Wednesday night, the Utah Jazz made "Doke" their first round pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
The 7-foot, 270-pound big man was the 27th overall pick in the Draft.
Azubuike was born in Nigeria but spent his college years in Lawrence, where he was known for his gym-rattling dunks and rim protection on defense.
He set an NCAA record for career field goal percentage at 74.6%.
Doke averaged 13.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game as a senior leading the Jayhawks to the No. 1 overall seed in an NCAA Tournament that never got played.
