Visually impaired artist and philanthropist Jeffrey Owen Hanson has been selected as the Coca-Cola Ronald McDonald House Charities Art Partner. The Coca-Cola Company asked Hanson to create an original work of art that resembles Coca-Cola and the Ronald McDonald House Charities, to help raise money for RMHC in the U.S. and Canada.

Hanson’s sculptured acrylic painting, titled “Polar Bear Sleepover,” features symbols hidden in the artwork of Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

“This is a meaningful project for me,” said Hanson. “I love Ronald McDonald House Charities, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola. My soda of choice has always been Diet Coke, and the first stock I purchased at age 14 for my IRA was Coca-Cola. I also battled a serious illness as a child, and I understand the challenges being faced by families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House. I created this work as a tribute to them and I hope it brings joy to their hearts. I believe the playful, cryptic images imbedded in the colorful artwork will bring smiles and happiness.”

The original “Polar Bear Sleepover” painting will be auctioned later this year at the Ronald McDonald House Charities Orlando gala. Three lithographs of the painting will be gifted to each Ronald McDonald House in the U.S. and Canada. One will remain on display in each home, while the others will be auctioned for additional fundraising.
