Happy Mother's Day bloggers,

We were living right last night as we avoided major severe weather once again. A Tornado Watch was issued just west of KC, but our streak of no Tornado Watch in 2 years, continues.
We had a significant line of thunderstorms move through around midnight and it remained just below severe limits due to it being too cool. We had a surge of cooler and drier air at the surface from the northeast just ahead of the thunderstorms. This really aided in cutting down the severe weather. This meant the thunderstorms were being fed by warm and humid air at about 1000 feet, also known as "elevated thunderstorms."

There were a few reports of 60 mph winds and minor wind damage. We will cover that in the video below.

Also the line was moving just fast enough to prevent flash flooding. So, the yards and farms got a nice drink of water without severe weather.

What is next? The 5 minute video below goes day by day through the week ahead.

Have a great week and stay healthy!
